Court Operations

The pickleball courts at SSV are to be used exclusively for residents of SSV and their invited guests. Refer to Court Management Policies for complete details about the management of the courts.

As a reminder, if you are not a member of the pickleball club, you will need to provide your own pickleballs. In the past, as a courtesy to all SSV residents, the club provided balls for general usage. Unfortunately,  people have been removing balls from the court and the club can no longer provide them.

The club organizes times for play by members only, from mid-October through mid-April. Although there is no club organized play other months, several club members do organize play.

Prime time is Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 12 Noon. During prime time, the courts are reserved for play by club members only with the following levels and court assignments:

Keeping in mind, as the season next fall begins we will likely need to adjust based on the numbers of members we have.

● Courts 1-2 Beginners and low intermediates (recreation play)

● Courts 3-4-5 Intermediates (recreational play)

● Courts 6-7-8 High Intermediates and Advanced (recreational and competitive, desire to play tournaments)

● Courts 9-12 Are for Advanced skill level players who are capable of playing  In-house or Sanctioned tournaments

Note: During club prime time play, member skill development should be encouraged at all court levels.

If you are unsure of your skill level, check out the Pickleball Skills Ratings Assessment Reference.

The club may reserve courts for Round Robins and other organized play/events during prime time and non-prime time. See Round Robins for more information about club scheduled Round Robins.

The club play schedule can be found here: Court Week-at-a-Glance or use the navigation menu to get to the Court Week-at-a-Glance page. Also, please check the court side white boards for play schedules.

Club members must wear their current name tags during any club scheduled play. Wearing your tag lets everyone know you are a member and importantly, in case of an emergency, quick access to who you are and to your emergency contact information.

SSV residents, who are not club members, are welcome to come and join members during morning open play for a trial period.  If you are interested in seeing if club play is right for you, come down to the east courts during prime time and get a guest badge located above the top shelf in the east storage room. Then put your paddle in one of the paddle holders and have fun. Please return the badge when you leave.

Members may wish to arrange their own play times outside designated club times. To ensure court availability, select Court Reservations to see which courts are not reserved. Members are encouraged to reserve a court in advance to ensure a court is available for their desired time slot.

Any SSV residents may reserve a court for a specific time when courts are not reserved for club play and events. Select Court Reservations or use the navigation menu to get to the Court Reservations page.
